Raiders of the Lost Ark had a very dramatic impact
on Agent5 as a 9 year old boy that has not diminished to this day.
He trekked to the theater to see it over and over in the summer of
1981 and then again and again the following summer during it's popular
and successful re-release. Like any 9 year old after seeing Raiders,
Agent5 wanted to be Indiana Jones. He was soon toting his grandfathers
old brown fedora, white dress shirt, khaki pants and Mark 6 gas mask
bag. Soon after he was gifted by his parents with his first whip
from Pier-1 Imports and his first costume was complete enough. Then
it was off to the yard for many adventures with friends who had just
as deep an admiration for Raiders. Well...almost.
Agent5's true love of Raiders of the Lost Ark has led him down
a lifetime path of collecting any and all things connected to the
legacy of Raiders as well as select items from the Indiana Jones
sequels. After finding the internet and Indygear it only made it
easier to acquire items for his collection that were never before
available to him. This only intesified his drive and intensity
to broaden his collection to include many foreign items, many well
made replicas as well as screen used pieces from the film and of
course, Indygear. With over 25 years of experience in collecting
Raiders items he has become known in many on-line circles as a
true Raiders aficianado and has shared his knowledge with Club
Obi Wan members and fans for almost a decade.
Agent5 hopes to continue to be an integral part of the Indygear
community that continues to learn as well as share information on
the greatest hero of modern cinema and what he considers to be the
best film ever to grace the silver screen, Raiders of the Lost Ark.
We are proud to have him, and his eye for detail, on board as a staff
writer. |
